Day 11 of 102

This is where we are right now.

Our position and weather information on the 11th day of the Centenary Voyage to Australia

I am writing as if my new domain or blog site is generally available, even if so far, my readers’ last communication seems to be Blog 853, Day 5 of 102, six days ago.

As you can see, we are ambling very gently along, heading south-east, now not so very far from Port Said, where we shall anchor until our scheduled slot to transit the Suez Canal, at 04.00 hrs. We shall exit the Suez Canal between 15 and 16.00 hrs.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the weather since emerging from a tempestuous Bay of Biscay, just a couple of days into the voyage.  Roughly this time last year, Lisbon was bright, cloudless, but very cool, not all conducive to riding on the open top deck of a tourist bus – or even a tuk-tuk, which I did, and actually enjoyed.

By the time we were docked at our second port of call, Heraklion, my Blog Site had gone pear-shaped for the first time ever, and although having signed up to a new upgraded deal, nothing seems yet to work. Nevertheless, it’s better to write in the hopes of a satisfactory outcome to my lack of hitech expertise.

Last night, I tried out my new phone camera out on the sunset. Below is a “sequence.”

Many thanks for reading, David, 12.31 hrs Café Carinthia, Deck 7 mid-aft, RMS Queen Mary 2.
