Blog 0065. Onwards and Westwards.

Day 76 of 102.

First photograph of the day.

This is the sixth of seven sea days between Fremantle and Port Louis, Mauritius.  Even with almost four weeks left of this Centenary World Voyage, and we are still ensconced in the Southern Hemisphere, there is that feeling of being on our way home now.

Note the second item, Disembarking earlier than scheduled.

I was slightly surprised at the announcement in today’s Daily Programme, illustrated above.

Hopefully, today, I should increase my steps total to 900,000, leaving 26 days to achieve my target of 1,000,000 steps in support of Christian Aid Week 2023, as well as hopefully lose some weight!

This afternoon, I did make it beyond 900K steps since Day 1 of the cruise, but despite taking it easy and going to the movies at 5pm, to see the film Good House, by the end of the day, after the show, and some nocturnal walking, I completed my daily target.

Seemingly, I missed a brilliant sunset tonight, watching a movie I had seen at least once last year. Nevertheless, it was worth a further viewing.

During the day and tonight, I attempted to create new and interesting photographs around the ship.

It was a relatively quiet day, apart from taking part in a music trivia quiz in the Golden Lion Pub on Deck 2.

There’s an extra hour in bed tonight as we steam ever westwards.

Now, it’s time to retire for the evening. Many thanks for reading, David, 00.05hrs, the Midnight Buffet.
