Blog 0099.  I wasn’t expecting this!

Greetings from Southampton A & E!

My leg injury the other day was still problematic. Rather than visit the onboard Medical Centre, I took the shuttle bus to West Quay from where I walked to Boots to seek advice at the pharmacy.  I was advised (urgently) to call at A&E, who were remarkably efficient and friendly. I was prescribed a penicillin based course of antibiotics that should sort out the resultant swelling.

So far, I am on schedule with my sponsored walking in support of Christian Aid Week.

As you may know, I have had difficulty publishing as many photographs as I would have liked.  Here are a few below, which almost brings this blog up to date.

We were accompanied by two fireboats as we set sail for Lisbon.  There were numerous blasts from the ship’s siren.

Final dinner last night. David (Buxton) Grace (New York) Robert (Chesterfield), Don, ( Scottish Borders).

There will be no fireworks tonight as we are expected to set sail around 6 pm.  Queen Anne was joined at the Mayflower Terminal by Royal Caribbean’s massive Anthem of the Seas

A whole contingent of new passengers boarded today.  Hopefully, I will be at a good table for dinner as previously.  However, there are numerous alternative dining options I shall want to try out.

Many thanks for reading, David, on the balcony of my stateroom. 17.10 hrs, Friday 10/5/24.

Walking on board for the first time. 3/5/24
