It’s actually Day 10/21 as I add to what I have written in Blog 239.
I had been warned that Reykjavik was a working city, not really set up for tourists. The hop-on hop-off bus ride told a different story.

From what I gather, there is just one route with sixteen stops, and from what I can see, all worth exploring. The immersive experience I had at the Volcano Express within the Harpa complex was beyond mind-blowing, and a bit scary.

The sky going dark momentarily during the total eclipse was a most moving experience. The minute went by far to quickly. And it cooled down as if ghosts were present. I hope that I see another total eclipse.
My last Blog 239 expressed disappointment in one of my dinner choices. Tonight, the lamb dish was of gourmet brilliance, and the whole meal equals any I have enjoyed with Cunard. I should have avoided the eclipse dessert, stuffed with chocolate, both white and conventional representing the moon blocking out the sun.

A troupe of Icelandic folksingers and dancers entertained an appreciative audience at both 20.15 and 22.15 hrs in the Royal Court Theatre. All very nice and perfectly appropriate given that we were docked in Reykjavik.

Not only did passengers receive eclipse glasses, which in the event weren’t needed, we all received a personalised certificate confirming our participation in the special eclipse voyage. At around 23.30hrs, after the show, we were moving in reverse prior to turning in the opposite direction for our crossing to New York where we arrive after five sea days.

I think that more or less covers today. It’s time for sleep! 01.08 hrs
Many thanks for reading, David, 01.08 hrs in his stateroom.
